On Wednesday May 27, 2026, Porsche Centre North Toronto was proud to support and host The Evolution of Chinese Food in Canada in celebration of Asian Heritage Month on behalf of NAAP (North American Association of Asian Professionals).

From humble chop suey houses to Michelin-recognized dining experiences, this conversation highlights the parallels between culinary evolution and the relentless pursuit of refinement that defines Porsche.
We were honoured to welcome an incredible panel of culinary leaders shaping Toronto’s Chinese dining scene.

Trevor Lui: co-founder of Quell and the visionary behind acclaimed concepts including Kanpai Snack Bar, FatBao, and Superfresh, known for creating immersive food and lifestyle experiences across the city.
Eva Chin: Executive Chef of Yan Dining Room and Culinary Director of Hong Shing Restaurant, celebrated for her bold modern Asian cuisine and leadership at renowned kitchens including Kōjin by Momofuku.
Braden Chong: Executive Chef of Big Hug Hospitality whose experience spans Michelin-starred kitchens in Japan, now leading celebrated Toronto favourites Mimi Chinese and Sunnys Chinese.
David Schwartz: Co-Founder and Culinary Director of Big Hug Hospitality, recipient of the 2023 Michelin Guide Toronto Young Chef Award and the creative force behind Michelin-recognized Mimi Chinese and Sunnys Chinese.
Hosted by the incredibly talented MC Anime, last evening was more than a food panel it was a conversation about identity, reinvention, and what it means to evolve with intention.
